In 1881 a British ship called the Ellen Austin was near Bermuda when it came across another vessel, fully rigged and in good shape, that was missing one thing - its entire crew. The captain of the Ellen Austin had a number of his crewmen board the phantom ship and sail it on to Newfoundland. A few days later, the two ships again crossed paths in high seas, but when the Ellen Austin hailed the other ship, it got no reply. The replacement crew also had disappeared, victims of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Why do I mention this? Because I'm about to disappear in Bermuda as well. My sister is getting married here on Friday. My gift to her is that I promise not to open my computer all week. (Does this mean I don't have to buy her anything off the registry?) I'll be back in California on Monday. I hope.
