49ers-Raider pre-game blog: Brock & Brown at CB

Cornerback Carlos Rogers returned to practice this week but will not push his strained Achilles in the game. Neither he nor Shawntae Spencer (hamstring) will play. That means Tramaine Brock will start his second straight game and Tarell Brown will play opposite him. Brock, Brown and Spencer are in the mix to play opposite Rogers this year. Rookie Chris Culliver will enter the game in nickel situations.

Dashon Goldson will start at safety opposite Donte Whitner. Receiver Chris Hogan (ankle) and Nate Byham (ACL) also are out for the 49ers.

The Raiders, meanwhile, have several prominent players missing for the game. WRs Jacoby Ford, Louis Murphy and Chaz Schillens; RBs Darren McFadden and Taiwan Jones and safeties Hiram Eugene, Mike Mitchell and Zac Etheridge will not suit up. Starting cornerback Chris Johnson also is out for the game.
