There was a surprise addition to the 49ers' injury report today. Cornerback Tarell Brown, who has started all nine games this season, injured his knee in today's practice. Brown was being examined this afternoon, and the severity of the injury is not known. He is listed as questionable on the report.
If Brown can't play, rookie Chris Culliver likely would start with Tramaine Brock entering on passing downs. Shawntae Spencer, inactive the last two games, also would dress for Sunday's game. Culliver, however, said he didn't think it would come to that. "Tarell's a strong person," Culliver said. "I don't think he's going to miss it. ... Whatever his injury is, he's going to work through it."
Frank Gore (knee) and Ray McDonald (hamstring) also are listed as questionable. Both were limited in today's practice. NaVorro Bowman (neck), Michael Crabtree (foot), Culliver (shoulder), Braylon Edwards (knee) and Shawntae Spencer (toe) are listed as probable.
Arizona Cardinals:
OUT - LB Joey Porter (knee), S Kerry Rhodes (foot)
QUESTIONABLE - CB Michael Adams (hamstring), T Jeremy Bridges (back), TE Todd Heap (hamstring), TE Rob Housler (groin), T Brandon Keith (knee), QB Kevin Kolb (toe), LB Paris Lenon (groin), RB Anthony Sherman (ankle), RB Chris Wells (knee)
PROBABLE - LB Stewart Bradley (ribs), KR LaRod Stephens-Howling (shoulder)
