Goldson ejected after throwing punches

Starting safety Dashon Goldson was ejected from today's game after he and Arizona receiver Early Doucet got into a midfield fight. Goldson swung twice at Doucet's helmet, drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and an ejection.

Reggie Smith entered the game at free safety, and was in coverage, along with cornerback Carlos Rogers, on a touchdown pass from Richard Bartel to Larry Fitzgerald. Goldson had an interception of John Skelton earlier in the game.

The ejection is likely to result in a fine. A suspension also is possible. However, a smiliar incident last year between Texans receiver Andre Johnson and Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan resulted in $25,000 fines for each but no suspensions. The two had gotten into a fracas a year earlier as well.

Said Doucet after the game: "The ball was thrown and he took a cheap shot at me. I fell, then got up. The refs didn't throw the flag. Then I just lost my cool, and then I went after him and we had a little scuffle."

Doucet said he was "pretty sure" he'd be fined.
