The 49ers' top cornerback, Carlos Rogers, did not practice Wednesday because of a knee injury. Linebacker Patrick Willis (hamstring) also did not practice and is a long shot to play in Sunday's rematch with the Cardinals.
While Willis was nowhere to be seen at the start of Wednesday's session, Rogers was standing with the defensive backs and was engaged - pointing, offering advice -- as they went through their drills. He had his left knee wrapped during the session but did not have a limp. Rogers' five interceptions leads the 49ers and ranks fourth in the NFL.
Only two other 49ers - receiver Braylon Edwards (knee) and the other starter at cornerback, Tarell Brown (ankle) - were on the injury report. Both were limited in practice.
