The chances that Patrick Willis and Joe Staley play in Monday's game are starting to dim. Both spent the start of
Thursday's Friday's practice exercising on a side field, the second straight day they have missed practice.
Willis' prospects seem worse than Staley's. The team's inside linebacker continues to work with strength and conditioning coach Mike Uyeyama as he rehabilitates his right hamstring. Staley must pass his post-concussion tests before he can return to practice. Staley was running on his own when practice began today.
The 49ers listed receiver Braylon Edwards (knee) and fullback Bruce Miller (knee) as limited on their
Wednesday Thursday injury report. Both were on hand for the start of practice as was running back Frank Gore.
For the Steelers, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) was listed as limited in today's practice. Center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (hamstring) did not practice.
One interesting sight prior to practice: first-round draft pick Aldon Smith kicking field goals with David Akers. The Condor can kick.
