****UPDATE**** Janie McCauley of the Associate Press tweeted that Gore indeed has decided to go to the Pro Bowl. Here's her tweet, which came after the locker room session with Gore: "Frank Gore just called, says he's go for Pro Bowl after exit physical. Flying to Hawaii Tues. "I'm going to go. Everything was cool."
Even if Frank Gore doesn't go to the Pro Bowl, the 49ers will send eight players. The team announced that longsnapper Brian Jennings will handle snapping duties for the NFC squad. That position is picked by the Pro Bowl coaching staff, and the Packers coaches tapped Jennings, who also had that duty in 2004.
Jim Harbaugh today said that one of the 49ers' pro bowlers told him he wouldn't attend, and Gore was non-committal when asked about Honolulu. The other 49ers who will attend are kicker David Akers, safety Dashon Goldson, punter Andy Lee, cornerback Carlos Rogers, defensive lineman Justin Smith, tackle Joe Staley and linebacker Patrick Willis.
Staley will play right tackle because the other offensive tackle selected, Philadelphia's Jason Peters, also plays on the left side.
