The 49ers today signed most of their practice squad to future contracts that will go into effect when the new league year begins March 13. Contracts - they are usually two-year deals - were signed by center Chase Beeler, tackle Derek Hall, cornerback Cory Nelms, tight end Konrad Reuland and linebacker Michael Wilhoite.
In addition, free safety Mark LeGree, who spent a week on the practice squad during the season, also was signed. As previously reported, longsnapper Kyle Nelson also has signed a future deal. The three practice squadders who were not signed to future deals are receiver John Matthews, outside linebacker Monte Simmons and outside linebacker Ricky Elmore.

Add Frank Gore to the list of 49ers who will not play in the Pro Bowl. Gore was replaced on the NFC squad by fellow NFC West runner Marshawn Lynch for medical reasons, according to the team. Gore had suffered knee and ankle injuries mid season but had not been on the team's injury report since Week 13 when he was listed as probable with a knee injury. The Seahawks web site reported that Gore had an "illness." Apparently Gore will fly to Honolulu but will not take part in the game. Safety Dashon Goldson and cornerback Carlos Rogers also will not play for the 49ers in Sunday's game.
