Harbaugh adds one more to the 49ers roster

Jim Harbaugh seemed a bit preoccupied yesterday. At around noon, he briskly walked into the 49ers locker room. "Are you taking off now?" linebacker Tavares Gooden asked him? "Huh?" I thought. "That has to be a joke."

It wasn't. Harbaugh made a lap around the locker room, shaking hands and slapping five with the two dozen or so players there before running - literally - out of the locker room. The team photo was taken without its head coach. Today we found out (were allowed to report) why.

As CSN anchor/longtime Harbaugh friend Dave Feldman reported, Sarah and Jim Harbaugh welcomed their third child, Jack Harbaugh, on Tuesday. The boy has all the makings of a linebacker or fullback or -- knowing Harbaugh -- both, weighing in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long. No word yet on his 40 time or vertical.

Jack, of course, is the name of the boy's paternal grandfather, and his paternal grandmother's name is Jackie. Feldman also points out that Harbaugh's son was born on the fourth day of the ninth month.

That has to be a bad omen for the Packers.
