James, Jenkins inactive; Scott Tolzien is not

A pair of high draft picks, A.J. Jenkins and LaMichael James, are inactive for today's game. Interestingly, quarterback Scott Tolzien, who was inactive for every game last season as the 49ers' third quarterback, is active for this one.

As the guy sitting next to me, Matt Maiocco, points out, Tolzien likely is active because of Andy Lee's hand injury. Lee hurt his right hand trying to tackle Packers punt returner Randall Cobb in Week 1. Tolzien may fill in for Lee as the team's holder today.

The other inactives are: Ted Ginn (ankle), Brandon Jacobs (knee), Garrett Celek, Joe Looney and Ian Williams

Inactives for the Lions:

QB Kellen Moore
CB Chris Houston
S Louis Delmas
CB Bill Bentley
LB Travis Lewis
T Jason Fox
T Corey Hilliard

Lineup changes:

* Drayton Florence will start in place of Houston at CB
* Jacob Lacey will start in place of Bentley at the other CB spot
* John Wendling will start at safety for Delmas

Both Andy Lee and David Akers received golden-boot trophies today as the winners of the 2011 Golden Toe Award given by Pro Football Weekly.

* Jacobs warmed up with his teammates today, doing so with a metal brace on his left knee.
