The 49ers traditionally are known to feature great quarterbacks. Topping the list are glowing names such as Joe Montana and Steve Young, heirs to a position made glamorous by Y.A. Tittle and John Brodie, and even Frankie Albert in the 1950s. Jeff Garcia filled the position capably after Young's departure, but transition from Garcia to the regime of Alex Smith and current favorite Colin Kaepernick was filled with lesser quarterbacking lights. Here's a collection of photos of every quarterback to start for the 49ers since Montana's final season with the 49ers in 1990.
