The 49ers now have 10 picks in the 2014 draft after a trade with the Titans early in the second round. The 49ers gave up the no. 34 pick for the Titans' no. 40 pick and no. 216 pick (7th round) this year as well as a third-round pick next year.
The 49ers already had two extra picks next year after trading Alex Smith to the Chiefs and safety Colin Jones to the Panthers. The Smith pick is a third-round selection that could improve to a second-round pick if Smith and the Chiefs excel next season.
The Titans ended up drafting Tennessee wideout Justin Hunter at pick no. 34. The Eagles selected Stanford tight end Zach Ertz at no. 35.
