Anthony Davis only player fined after Seattle showdown

The 49ers-Seahawks game Sunday had 22 penalties and plenty of after-the-whistle shoving. The only player fined, however, was right tackle Anthony Davis, who has been docked $7,875 for an unnecessary roughness foul late in the fourth quarter.

Tight end Vance McDonald was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and Aldon Smith for unnecessary roughness, but neither was fined. Nor was Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy, whose low -- but legal -- block on Ian Williams resulted in a broken ankle for the 49ers' nose tackle. Williams will not play again this season.

Davis also was fined after last year's game against the Seahawks in Seattle. Davis buried Seattle rookie cornerback Jeremy Lane -- who is 140 pounds lighter than Davis -- with a block well after the play had ended late in the fourth quarter in what was then a 35-6 game.
