The eyebrow bet between Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson is make believe. So is their chumminess, it seems.
"Just had a few brief conversations in between shoots," Kaepernick said about his relationship with his Seattle counterpart. Has that relationship continued since their commercial shoot? Do they text each other?
"No," said Kaepernick.
The two quarterbacks met in Los Angeles this offseason to shoot a series of commercials for EA Sports. At the end of each, the two are side by side intently playing a video game like a couple of long-time buddies. In one, Wilson kisses his bicep and asks Kaepernick if he's doing it correctly. In another, they bet on their upcoming game - the loser has to shave off one of his eyebrows.
Wilson said Tuesday the bet was "not real serious." "It was more of just a friendly, joking around type deal," he told KJR Radio in Seattle. "We'll probably do something digitally. Something like that."
Asked who he thought would look better with a lone eyebrow, the no-mirth Kaepernick said, "I'm not thinking about that. I'm worried about getting the win."
A year ago, Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly made a bet with Boyz II Men singer Nathan Morris that if he lost to the 49ers in Week 1 last season, he would wear Alex Smith's 49ers jersey for a week. Rodgers and the Packers fell to Smith and the 49ers. However, Rodgers never was seen wearing a red and white No. 11 jersey.
NFL bets: jerseys stay off, eyebrows remain on.
