49ers injury report: Willis, Asomugha return to practice

Linebacker Patrick Willis and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha were back at practice today in a limited fashion after missing Thursday's game against the Rams. After a long rest, the only two players on the active roster to sit out practice altogether were tackle Anthony Davis (shoulder) and receiver Quinton Patton (foot).

Patton, who broke a bone in his foot Thursday, has been declared out, as he will be at least until the team's bye week.

Willis, who suffered a groin injury Sept. 22 against Indianapolis, said he was making progress but that he was still sore and fighting through the pain of his injury. Look for him to be listed as questionable Friday and to be a game-time decision Sunday. Asomugha, meanwhile, is dealing with a knee injury. He and Tramaine Brock are in the running for the No. 3 cornerback job. Brock played well at that spot Thursday.
