49ers pregame: RB James, WR Baldwin on today's inactive list

LONDON -- LaMichael James will be inactive for the third straight game this season as the 49ers take on the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. So will receiver Jon Baldwin, who has been battling an undisclosed illness for the last week and a half. Baldwin was listed as questionable on the team's injury report.

With Quinton Patton still coming back from a broken foot suffered Week 4, that means the team's wide receivers will be: Anquan Boldin, Kyle Williams, Marlon Moore and Kassim Osgood.

The 49ers' defensive line was banged up for last week's win over the Titans but seems better repaired this week. Justin Smith (shoulder), Ray McDonald (biceps) and Glenn Dorsey (hamstring) were limited in practice Thursday and Friday and all three will start.

General manager Trent Baalke, meanwhile, described James as a "key" player on Friday and insisted there were no plans to trade James, a second-round pick a year ago. However, he missed the first three games of the season with a knee injury and has been a healthy scratch the last three. James has played in two games this season and has seven carries for 31 yards.
