Wide receiver Marlon Moore, who was released by the 49ers last week, signed today with the Miami Dolphins. Moore (Natomas High) spent three seasons in Miami before signing a free-agent deal with the 49ers earlier this year. The 49ers likely will activate receiver Mario Manningham today, which made Moore expendable.
Moore served as San Francisco's No. 2 wide receiver during the exhibition season. However, he was lightly used when the regular season began even as other No. 2 wide receivers on the team failed to make an impact. He had one catch for six yards through eight games and played just 78 snaps.
The 49ers also never used Moore on special teams, his niche when he was with the Dolphins. Moore served as a gunner when he was with Miami.
