Starters Mike Iupati and Tarell Brown have been ruled out for the 49ers' Monday night game against the Redskins. Nine-year veteran Adam Snyder is expected to fill in at left guard for Iupati, an All-Pro in 2012 who suffered a sprained MCL Sunday against the Saints and who could miss multiple games. Brown, meanwhile, is dealing with bruised ribs. He'll be replaced at right cornerback by Tramaine Brock, who signed a four-year, $16 million extension on Friday.
Like Brown and Iupati, starting left defensive end Ray McDonald did not practice at all this week as he recovered from a high-ankle sprain suffered Nov. 10. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Friday said McDonald was "much improved" but "iffy" for Monday's game. McDonald is listed as questionable on the team's injury report as is third tight end Garrett Celek, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Tony Jerod-Eddie will fill in for McDonald if he can't play; Derek Carrier would serve as the third tight end for Celek.
Receiver Mario Manningham also is listed as questionable and has been "limited" in practice this week. The receiver is coming back from multiple knee ligament tears suffered in December. Manningham, however, also was questionable last week and ended up playing 27 snaps.
