The good news on the 49ers' injury front: Receiver Michael Crabtree, who appeared to injure his left hand during Sunday's game in Tampa, practiced in full with what was described as a wrist injury. Crabtree, who caught his first touchdown pass of the season Sunday, also has been dealing with an ankle injury, which did not seem to hamper him against the Buccaneers.
Another receiver, Mario Manningham, missed today's practice with an illness. Manningham also has been fighting through a knee injury and has one catch for two yards in the last three games. One of the ways the 49ers can adjust to the loss of fullback Bruce Miller is to use more three-wide receiver formations, of which Manningham presumably would be a part.
Also missing practice were center Jonathan Goodwin (not injury related) and defensive end Justin Smith (shoulder), who typically sits out the first practice of the week. Daniel Kilgore filled in at center for Goodwin.
Frank Gore (ankle, knee), Mike Iupati (knee), Vance McDonald (ankle) and Dan Skuta (foot) were limited on Thursday.
Did not practice: WR Darius Johnson (ankle), RB Antone Smith (knee), LB Sean Weatherspoon (knee)
Limited: TE Tony Gonzalez (toe), S Zeke Motta (hand)
Full: S Thomas DeCoud (concussion)
