49ers injuries: Iupati back at practice; Crabtree dealing with ankle sprain

Left guard Mike Iupati, who hasn't practiced since injuring his MCL on Nov. 17, was back on a limited basis for today's session. That raises the possibility that the 49ers offensive line will be intact Sunday against Tampa Bay for the first time since the start of the Week 11 game at New Orleans. Adam Snyder has started the last three games in place of Iupati.

Snyder was one of three 49ers who did not practice Wednesday but his absence was not injury-related, according to the team. Also not practicing were defensive ends Justin Smith and Ray McDonald, who are routinely given Wednesdays off. They are expected back on Thursday.

Iupati was one of eight players who practiced on a limited basis. That list also included receiver Michael Crabtree, who injured his ankle in the first half Sunday but did not miss any snaps, and running back Frank Gore, who also was limited in last Wednesday's practice. Gore is dealing with an ankle injury.

Left tackle Joe Staley (knee) practiced in full while cornerback Eric Wright, who appeared to suffer a head injury in the third quarter against the Seahawks, was not listed on the injury report. Cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs) was limited, but he no longer is wearing a blue, non-contact jersey.

Did not practice: DT Ray McDonald (ankle), DT Justin Smith (shoulder), G Adam Snyder (not injury related)

Limited: CB Tarell Brown (ribs), WR Michael Crabtree (ankle), S Craig Dahl (ankle), RB Frank Gore (ankle), G Mike Iupati (knee), WR Mario Manningham (knee), TE Vance McDonald (ankle), LB Dan Skuta (foot).

Full: LB Aldon Smith (shoulder), T Joe Staley (knee)

Did not practice: DE Da'Quan Bowers (knee), WR Vincent Jackson (hamstring), G Davin Joseph (knee, shoulder), G Carl Nicks (foot), C Jeremy Zuttah (shoulder)

Full: LB Lavonte David (back), DE William Gholston (head), DT Gary Gibson (calf), DT Akeem Spence (wrist)
