49ers injury watch: Staley, Iupati miss practice; Crabtree is full go

Jim Harbaugh said he wouldn't rule out starting offensive linemen Joe Staley and Mike Iupati from playing in Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but neither practiced on Wednesday. The two 2012 Pro Bowlers, who compose the left side of the 49ers' offensive line, are dealing with MCL sprains. Both were on elliptical machines as practice began.

The news is better for the receiving corps. Neither Michael Crabtree (Achilles') nor rookie Quinton Patton (foot) are on the injury report. Crabtree played 42 snaps on Sunday, his first game since tearing his Achilles' on May 21, and there was some question about how he would bounce back from his first outing.

Two other receivers, Mario Manningham (knee) and Jon Baldwin (calf) were limited in practice. So were running back Frank Gore, who is dealing with an ankle injury, and cornerback Tarell Brown, who is coming back from a rib injury.

Veteran Justin Smith usually has a day off from practice on Wednesday, as was the case today. Rookie tight end Vance McDonald sprained his ankle in the first half Sunday, and he also did not practice. However, tight end Garrett Celek, who has missed the last two and half games with a hamstring injury, practiced in full. His return ought to help the 49ers' running game.

Did not practice: G Mike Iupati (knee), TE Vance McDonald (ankle), DT Justin Smith (shoulder), T Joe Staley (knee)

Limited: WR Jon Baldwin (calf), CB Tarell Brown (ribs), RB Frank Gore (ankle), WR Mario Manningham (knee), DT Ray McDonald (ankle), LB Dan Skuta (foot)

Full: LB Navorro Bowman (wrist), TE Garrett Celek (hamstring), LB Aldon Smith (shoulder)

Did not practice: WR Percy Harvin (hip), WR Golden Tate (hip), DE Bruce Irvin (thigh), RB Marshawn Lynch (not injury related)

Limited: CB Brandon Browner (groin)

Full: TE Kellen Davis (neck)
