Injury report: Carlos Rogers expects to be nickel cornerback Sunday

Cornerback Carlos Rogers, who is listed as questionable on the team's injury report, said he took all of the nickel cornerback repetitions during Friday's practice and expects to be in that role Sunday against the Seahawks. Rogers had missed the last two games with a hamstring strain. Perrish Cox has filled in at the nickel spot.

"I've been sprinting, making sharp cuts, a lot of cuts I didn't think I was going to make. And I've been making them with no problem," Rogers said. "I'm feeling good."

Still, he said doctors wanted to ease him back onto the field. He said he's prepared to play in the base defense but figured his role will be in the nickel. "It's tough coming off the injury that I had and saying, ok, you're going to play 65, 70 snaps," he said.

In Week 2, the 49ers' third cornerback played 42 of 76 snaps against the Seahawks. In Week 14, the third cornerback played 19 of 53 snaps.

The 49ers' nickel cornerback mostly will face Seahawks receiver Dog Baldwin, who finished second to Golden Tate for Seattle in receiving yards - 778 - in the regular season. The team's other option, Percy Harvin, was ruled out with a concussion earlier in the day.

"He didn't play but one or two games this year and those guys are at the top of the NFC," Rogers said of Harvin. "So I don't think it affects them. We're glad that he's not playing. That's an effective guy. (But) we've got a lot more guys to deal with - those receivers, the running back, the quarterback."

Questionable: CB Carlos Rogers (hamstring), RB Will Tukuafu (knee)

Probable: LB Navorro Bowman (wrist), LB Ahmad Brooks (illness), WR Michael Crabtree (wrist), DE Demarcus Dobbs (knee, shoulder), C Jonathan Goodwin (foot), RB Frank Gore (knee), LB Dan Skuta (foot), DT Justin Smith (shoulder)

Questionable: DT Jordan Hill (groin)

Probable: RB Marshawn Lynch (not injury related), LB K.J. Wright (foot)
