From David Richie:
Robert John Vuittonet, 28, is back in jail after being listed last week as a prime Crime Alert wanted suspect. Vuittonet, left, had several criminal cases pending recently when he failed to appear in court May 23.
Jail records indicate that he was booked back into jail about 11:20 a.m. today on warrants for numerous offenses including possession of controlled substances for sale, carrying a concealed firearm, burglary, and battery.
According to court records, Vuittonet has had six separate criminal cases filed against him from October 2003 through May 2008. Although he has spent time in jail, state prison sentences have been suspended.
Bee file reports note that he was arrested March 25 in Oak Park on various charges, including suspicion of probation violation, robbery and possession of marijuana while driving.
He also was a figure in a bizarre incident in January 2005 when a hysterical blind man with a gun broke into a senior housing complex on Greenhaven Drive. Michael Savage fired several shots but did not hit anybody. When police officers arrived, he told them that he was fleeing from his downstairs neighbors who had become enraged after he asked them to turn down their music.
Savage lived in a nearby apartment complex.
Police could find no evidence that he was being chased. But, when they checked in on the residents downstairs - including Vuittonet - officers found marijuana and enough money to arrest all three on a charge of possession of marijuana for sale.
