From Chelsea Phua and Niesha Lofing:
Two men and three teenage boys were arrested late Thursday after allegedly shooting BB guns at more than a dozen people in Sacramento.
Police officers spotted the vehicle associated with the shootings at about 11 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Raley's on Mack Road, said Sacramento police Lt. Kathy Lester.
The officers conducted a probation search and found three BB guns in the vehicle, she said.
Kulpreet Singh, 20, and Clarence Watts, 19, were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon with likelihood of great bodily harm and conspiracy with two or more people to commit crime. They both are being held on $130,000 bail in Sacramento County Main Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to online jail information.
Three 17-year-old boys also were taken into custody. One of the teenagers has a gang affiliation, Lester said. They are not being identified because they are minors.
The group allegedly shot the BBs at people who were walking or waiting at bus stops in several locations.
The first incident was reported at 7:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of Folsom Boulevard, police said. Other shooting locations included north and downtown Sacramento.
About 13 people were hit by BBs, Lester said.
Some of the victims were treated for minor injuries.
