From Sandy Louey:
Ten inmates were involved in a fight that stemmed from gang rivalry at the El Dorado County jail in Placerville last week, a sheriff's spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
The incident occurred at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 when the inmates in the D-pod started fighting, the spokesman said.
Correctional staff entered the area and stopped the fighting, he said. A stun gun was used to control one inmate who refused to stop, he said.
The inmates involved received minor injuries and no correctional staff were hurt, he said. The inmates were rehoused and reclassified.
