From David Richie:
Roseville police chased a man already on probation for burglary through the Sierra Gardens neighborhood south of Douglas Boulevard Saturday night after they spotted him driving a car that had been reported stolen in Auburn.
The action started just before 11 p.m. when officers tried to stop the vehicle. Its driver led them on a chase through several parking lots along North Sunrise Avenue. The driver abandoned the car and his passenger on Tanglewood Lane and fled. About an hour later, a resident on Kent Street called 911 reporting that someone had jumped onto his roof. Police then spotted the suspect leaping off a 20-foot-high sound wall along Sierra Gardens Drive.
The suspect, Bradley Allen Sherman, 25, of Georgetown was slightly injured on the jump and officers took him into custody. He was booked on variety of charges, including suspicion of vehicle theft, evading police officers and possession of controlled substances. Police determined that he already was on probation for burglary in the state of Nevada.
The car's passenger, Jeffrey James King, 25, of Auburn, also was arrested on numerous charges, including suspicion of receiving or possessing stolen property, conspiracy and possession of controlled substances. He posted bail and was released.
Sherman is being held without bail in Placer County Jail.
