Man arrested after reported sexual assault in mall parking lot

From David Richie:

Citrus Heights police confirmed Monday evening that they arrested a man late Sunday night after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in the Sunrise Mall parking lot outside the Sears store.

The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. when a stranger, later identified by police as Erick Guzman, 24, forced his way into a woman's car and attacked her, police said. The woman fought off the man before he fled. Officers found him a short distance away and took him into custody.

Guzman was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail on a charge of sexual battery and he remains in custody today with bail set at $20,000.
