From Niesha Lofing and Sandy Louey:
Three young children were taken into protective custody and four people were arrested Tuesday after El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies busted a methamphetamine lab at an El Dorado home.
The children, whose ages ranged from 2 to 7 years old, lived with two adults in the modular home in the 3500 of White Oak Ridge Road where there was access to the drugs, sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Bryan Golmitz said.
While serving a search warrant at the property, deputies found glass pipes, methamphetamine, scales and a small amount of marijuana in the house, he said.
Child Protective Services took custody of the children.
An inactive methamphetamine lab with glassware and chemicals was found in a detached garage on the property, Golmitz said.
A team from the California Justice Department's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement dismantled the lab, he said.
