From Sandy Louey:
Auburn police say a man who tried and failed to take money from one bank has succeeded in robbing two others in the Sacramento region.
At 11:58 a.m. Thursday, a man entered the U.S. Bank at 730 High Street in Auburn and demanded money from a teller but eventually left empty-handed. It's unclear if the man was armed, according to a press release.
Less than an hour later, about 12:43 p.m., the same man went into a Washington Mutual Bank in Citrus Heights, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount, the release said.
Auburn police say the same man also robbed a Wells Fargo bank Oct. 3 in Roseville. He went into the bank at 781 Pleasant Grove Blvd. and demanded cash, taking an undisclosed amount and leaving, the release said.
The man (top photo) is described as a white male, age 35 to 40, 5-feet-8 to 6-feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was unshaven with short hair, wore a white T-shirt under a black-hooded sweatshirt, hunting-style camouflage pants, black shoes, and a black baseball cap with a white emblem.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Auburn Police Department's investigations division at (530) 823-4237, ext. 207.
