Elk Grove police say a man who attempted to rob a gas station on Saturday was responsible for robbing a Galt gas station 30 minutes later.
At 5:34 a.m. Saturday, a man (left photo) entered the Chevron gas station at 9615 W. Taron Drive and pointed a silver-colored semi-automatic pistol at the clerk and demanded money, according to a press release from the Elk Grove Police Department.
He fled when the clerk told him he didn't have any money.
Elk Grove police say the man robbed a Valero gas station in Galt 30 minutes later.
That robbery took place at 6:05 a.m. Saturday at the Valero gas station at 800 N. Lincoln Way. The man approached the clerk at gunpoint and demanded money. After the money was handed over, the man was seen leaving in a dark colored vehicle, similar to a Honda, according to the Galt Police Department.
The suspect is described as 20 years old and 5 feet 2 inches tall. He had a medium build with short hair.
He wore a dark cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt with red lining, a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants.
