Galt cops say two stabbings may be gang related

Galt police are investigating two stabbings that are believed to be gang-related.

Both incidents occurred within a two-hour period Monday night.

The first was at 5:34 p.m. at F and Second streets. Several men confronted an 18-year-old man. One of them stabbed him in the lower back. The men then fled on foot, according to a press release.

The second stabbing took place at 7:34 p.m. at First Street and Benner Court. Several men who were around 20 years of age confronted a 16-year-old boy. One of the them stabbed the boy several times in the right side and back. The men then left in a large silver or white SUV-type vehicle, police said.

The victims in both stabbings were taken to the UC Davis Medical Center.
