From Sandy Louey:
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department arrested three people Sunday suspected of robbing a man whose vehicle had broken down after leaving Red Hawk Casino near Shingle Springs.
Booked into the El Dorado County jail on suspicion of armed robbery were: Kambarage Mayhand (left photo), 34; Fermin Avila (center photo), 33; and Kathryn Biesecker (right photo), 23, all Sacramento residents.
At 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to an armed robbery complaint in the area of Strickland Mine and El Dorado roads where a casino patron told them he had been robbed after the car he was riding in broke down.
The victim said he and his friends were at the casino most of the night. After they left, the car broke down and he stayed to try to repair it, while the others left.
According to a sheriff's department news release, he flagged down a car to get help Sunday morning, and one with two men and a woman stopped. One of the men provided assistance before hitting the victim and threatening to shoot him, the news release said. Then, the three people in the vehicle robbed the Sacramento man, the sheriff's department said.
The victim called 911 and provided information about the suspects and the vehicle, which was spotted traveling on Highway 50 at the Bass Lake grade. With help from the Folsom police and the California Highway Patrol, deputies stopped the vehicle near Highway 50 and Prairie City Road in Folsom, authorities said. They said they found stolen property in the vehicle.
