From Bee Staff:
Two women were caught by a surveillance camera (photos below) as they allegedly used stolen debit or credit cards at local businesses, the Roseville Police Department said.
Both suspects are described as heavyset Hispanic females. One, who appeared to be in her 40s, was about 5'5" tall, had dyed reddish hair pulled back on a ponytail, and wore large square sunglasses, according to a Police Department press release.
The other suspect, who appeared to be in her teens or 20s, had dark hair and wore prescription glasses, the release said. Police suspect the two may be related.
The release gave this account:
Sometime between 9 a.m. and noon on Jan. 23, two wallets were stolen in two separate incidents in Roseville. One wallet was stolen from an unlocked employee break room in a retail store; the other was stolen from a grocery store checkout counter after the victim inadvertently left it behind.
Soon after the thefts, the suspects attempted to use the victims' credit or debit cards to purchase merchandise at nearby businesses.
Anyone who recognizes the women in the attached surveillance photos is asked to call the Roseville Police Investigations Unit at (916) 774-5070, or Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916) 783-7867.
Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward, the release said.
