From Kim Minugh:
Sacramento County sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for two sexual assaults on the Cordova High School campus in recent months.
The attacks allegedly occurred in campus restrooms on Dec. 11 and on Jan. 23, said sheriff's Sgt. Tim Curran.
The first reportedly took place shortly before 8 a.m., when the 18-year-old female victim told deputies she was pushed into a restroom and sexually assaulted, Curran said. The victim said she blacked out and could not describe her attacker.
The second assault took place about 7:35 a.m., when the 15-year-old female victim said she was pushed into a restroom and assaulted. She described the suspect as a 19-year-old Caucasian man, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was described as having a thin build, with light brown hair styled in a "spiky" crew cut, Curran said. The suspect also was described as wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans.
Authorities believe the same suspect is involved in both assaults because the circumstances are similar, Curran said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at (916) 874-5070 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
