Sacramento Police Capt. Daniel Hahn shares updated crime statistics with Natomas residents via Robslist, a listserv about crime in that area:
These are preliminary crime stats that compare February 2009 to February 2008. They are subject to slight changes but shouldn't change by much - therefore are good for seeing trends with crime in our neighborhoods. I have noted some highlights from the report:
Police District 1A (North Natomas)
Residential burglaries went down in February (15%) after going up in January.
Vehicle burglaries went up for 2nd month in a row (19% (41 to 49)
Stolen vehicles went down 20% (24 to 20)
Robberies went down from 1 to 0
Police District 1B (South Natomas)
Residential burglaries went up slightly (4%) after going down in January.
Vehicle burglaries went down 18% (26 to 22)
stolen cars went down 39% (23 to 14)
Robberies went up 300% (1 to 4)
Assaults went up 400% (1 to 5)
Police District 1C (Gardenland/Northgate)
Residential burglaries went down for second month in a row (52%).
Business burglaries went down (3 to 0)
Vehicle burglaries went down 27% (11 to 8)
Robberies went down 75% (4 to 1) after going up last month.
