Investigators from the Sacramento Violent Crimes Task Force are asking the public to help identify two men they say are responsible for a series of armed robberies in Carmichael.
The task force is comprised of detectives from Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and FBI agents.
According to a news release by the sheriff's department, the men are believed to have robbed various businesses - two of them more than once - in 12 incidents since Feb. 4 in the Fair Oaks Boulevard area.
The businesses, located in the area from El Camino Avenue to Manzanita Avenue, include check cashing businesses, liquor stores, hair cutting studios and fast food restaurants.
The suspects are described as two white men between 19 and 20 years old and 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 tall with average builds. During the robberies, they usually wear dark clothing such as dark hooded jackets, masks, bandannas and sunglasses.
Authorities said the men have been able to avoid store surveillance cameras from capturing their images, but one suspect could be seen wearing a camouflage baseball hat and a black jacket with a white horizontal stripe across the back.
The suspect fired a round into the ceiling with a small revolver.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department at (916) 874-5115 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
