Girl, 13, assaulted at out-of-session Antelope school

From Bill Lindelof:

A 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted this week at an Antelope school that was not in session, Sacramento County sheriff's deputies reported.

The teen was on the Antelope Crossing Middle School campus, 9200 Palmerson Drive, with two teenage friends, a boy and a girl, shortly after 5 p.m. Monday when the group briefly became separated.

When the victim walked to the west side of the campus, which is part of the Dry Creek Elementary School District, a man appeared from behind a classroom and grabbed her from behind, deputies said. The suspect sexually assaulted the teen and then fled toward Palmerson Drive after the victim struggled and screamed for help.

One of the girl's friends was nearby and saw the attack. The suspect is described as a pot-bellied white man in his mid-40s, about 5-feet, 6-inches tall. He was wearing a gray T-shirt with red trim, blue jeans and black socks.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (916) 874-5194.
