From Hudson Sangree:
Folsom police say they arrested a serial burglary suspect after residents responded to a "reverse 911" call.
Weeks ago, police sent out a message to residents warning them of a rise in area burglaries, Officer Jason Browning said in a news release.
On Cascade Falls Drive, a neighbor heading to work Monday morning spotted a suspicious person driving through the neighborhood and called police, the release said.
A second neighbor called and reported the same vehicle, police said.
Police said they responded, found the vehicle parked between two homes and waited until Vadim Zhurko (left photo) exited a side yard and put items into his sport utility vehicle.
Investigators found Zhurko, 29, of Antelope was carrying a .22 caliber pistol stolen from a burglary in Napa; his vehicle was stolen; and he was possessing stolen property from Manteca, Lodi, Sacramento, West Sacramento and Dixon, according to police.
Zhurko was out on bail after being arrested in July by Roseville police for possessing controlled substances and driving a stolen vehicle, Folsom police said.
He was booked into the Sacramento County jail on suspicion of burglary, grand theft, committing a felony while on bail, possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, vehicle theft and possession of controlled substances, police said.
