Sacramento Police Capt. Daniel Hahn shares updated crime statistics with Natomas residents via Robslist, a listserv about crime in that area:
The attached crime stats for Natomas compare certain crime categories for October 2009 to October 2008. They also have the year-to-date statistics. These are preliminary crime statistics and are subject to slight changes ... but they are good for observing trends and if they do change, it would be only slightly. Below are some of the notable statistics in the report:
Police Beat 1A (North Natomas)
Residential Burglaries stayed the same (18 to 18). They have gone down or stayed even for four months in a row.
Business burglaries went down 30% (10 to 7)
Vehicle burglaries went up 59% (22 to 35). They have gone up 4 months in a row.
Stolen cars went up 30% (20 to 26).
Robberies unspecified went down 66% (3 to 1). They are down 48% for the whole year.Police Beat 1B (South Natomas)
Residential burglaries went up 35% (14 to 19). They have gone up 2 months in a row.
Business burglaries went down 62% (8 to 3).
Vehicle burglaries went down 50% (28 to 14).
Stolen cars went up 36% (11 to 15).
Robberies unspecified went down 30% (10 to 7). They are down 29% for the whole year.Police Beat 1C (Northgate/Gardenland)
Residential burglaries went down 26% (15 to 11). This is the first time in four months these went down.
Business burglaries went down 50% (4 to 2).
Vehicle burglaries went down 55% (9 to 4)
Stolen cars went down 61% (13 to 5). This is the first time in four months they went down.
Robberies unspecified went up 66% (3 to 5).
