6th sexual assault reported at Sacramento State

suspect.JPGA sixth student has reported being sexually assaulted on the California State University, Sacramento campus since the school year began, according to authorities.

The assault, not reported to campus police until Nov. 22, occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15, said police Detective Scott Christian.

A woman was walking to her vehicle in Parking Structure I when a man approached her, touched her chest through her clothing and fled when she pepper sprayed his face, Christian said.

Another female student had previously reported being assaulted in the same parking garage about 7 p.m. that day. However, Christian said police do not believe the incidents are related, nor do they think the two assaults are related to four others reported on campus since September.

In the most recent case, the victim described her attacker as a white man about 30 years old with a thin build, spiked blonde hair and light brown eyes, wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, according to police. A composite sketch of the suspect (left) has been released.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call campus police at (916) 278-6851. Callers can remain anonymous.

Police do not have any new information on the earlier assaults, which involved:

- A female student who said she was assaulted as she was studying on a bench near Capistrano Hall the afternoon of Sept. 13. She told police a man sat down and tried to hug her, and in doing so, "very briefly groped her" through her clothes.

- A female student who said she was raped by an acquaintance at the American River Courtyard residence hall Oct. 18. Police arrested an 18-year-old student; however, the Sacramento District Attorney's office declined to move forward with charges.

- A female student who said she was kidnapped by three men in a van and sexually assaulted in the Sacramento State Residence Hall parking lot about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21. The victim described the van as dark-colored, possibly red, with a driver's side sliding door, according to police. She also described the man who pulled her inside as Hispanic, 19 to 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a slender build, buzz cut and brown eyes. She could not provide a description of the other two men in the van, police said.

- A female student who said she was groped by a passing man as she was walking near the library about noon Nov. 8.

In the earlier Nov. 15 assault reported to police, a woman said she was walking to her car in Parking Structure I when a man grabbed her from behind and assaulted her.
