A 60-year-old Rancho Cordova woman died when her car collided this morning with a work crew's truck on westbound Highway 50 near Harbor Boulevard in West Sacramento, injuring two workers.
The Sacramento County Coroner's website identified the woman as Morissa Susan Anapolsky.
Traffic was backed up with on westbound Highway 50 with three lanes blocked until mid afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said that about 10 a.m. witnesses reported a car being driven recklessly down Highway 50. Shortly after that, a Camry matching the same description ran into the center divider where a private contractor was doing work for Caltrans.
The Camry hit the contractor's truck, pushing it forward and pinning one of the workers between the divider and his truck. The 41-year-old worker suffered injury to his legs.
He was transported to the hospital. Another worker suffered minor injuries.
The car then hit a white van, but that driver was not injured.
Anapolsky was transported to UC Davis Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
"We are not sure what was causing the erratic driving of the 60-year-old female," said CHP Officer Cindy Leal.
