Three men were arrested in connection with a bank robbery Tuesday morning that ended with a car chase and foot pursuit through South Natomas near the Stone Creek shopping center.
Arrested were Damien Lockridge, 21, Eric Holmes, 36, and a 26-year-old suspect whose name hasn't been released pending him being booked at Sacramento main jail, said Sgt. Tim Curran, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman. They were all from the Los Angeles area.
The men, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts are suspected of robbing a branch of Wells Fargo in the 5000 block of Auburn Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m., Curran said.
They fled in a gray sedan, which was soon spotted driving west on Interstate 80. Sacramento police and California Highway Patrol officers joined the pursuit, which ended with the car crashing into a tree near Truxel Road and West El Camino Avenue, Curran said.
Officers and deputies surrounded the area and arrested the men, who had fled on foot, said Sacramento police officer Konrad Von Schoech. There was a search for a possible fourth suspect, but investigators now believe there were only three people involved in the robbery, Curran said.
Nearby schools were temporarily placed on lockdown. Loose money was recovered in the car, Curran said.
