Officials at California State University, Sacramento reported another sexual assault took place in a campus dorm late Thursday or early Friday - the seventh since the school year started in September.
Unlike the recent rash of stranger assaults on the campus, the latest assault involved acquaintances and was fueled by alcohol, according to university officials.
The assault took place in the American River Courtyard residence hall and was reported late Friday, said Kim Nava, a spokeswoman for CSUS.
Investigation continues on the crime, a suspect has been identified and an arrest is expected soon, university officials said.
Students have been encouraged to report assaults and the university is trying to be transparent about what's going on to break down reluctance to address the issue, Nava said.
"There may be more of a level of comfort" with reporting assaults, she said.
