Woodland police have arrested an 18-year-old woman and two juvenile girls on suspicion of burglarizing a Quick Stop market.
A Woodland Police detective on Wednesday spotted a vehicle parked next to Campbell Park, 701 Thomas St., with a license plate number that matched that of a vehicle used in the theft of beer from the Quick Stop at 10 Kentucky Ave. earlier in the day. Several females had been reported as suspects in the theft, according to a Police Department news release.
The detective noticed several females sitting together in the park. When patrol officers arrived, they contacted the group and found them in possession of the same brand of beer reported stolen from the store. A witness was brought to the scene and identified some of the females as those involved in the theft and also identified the beer as having come from the store, police said.
The three females were taken into custody, and police reported finding numerous other items on their possession and in the vehicle that officers suspect may have been stolen. Included were clothing, cell phones and wristwatches.
The 18-year-old, identified as Adolaria Herrera of Yuba City, and the two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Police said the case is still under investigation and more arrests may be forthcoming.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 661-7800 or (530) 666-2411.
