2 vacant Sacramento Co. buildings burn; arson investigated

By Bill Lindelof

Arson is blamed for one early morning fire in Carmichael and not been ruled out in a second blaze that happened in North Highlands.

The first fire in two units of a vacant four-unit building at 6041 Northcrest Circle in Carmichael was reported at 12:46 a.m.

Fire investigators have ruled the fire was caused by an arsonist.

The second fire occurred in a vacant home at 5816 San Vincente Way in North Highlands about 2:20 a.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined but investigators have not ruled out arson.

Transients have been known to enter the structure, according to a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District news release.
