One Reno man is in custody and four other suspects are sought in connection with a Jan. 12 robbery in the Yuba County community of Dobbins in which the victim was threatened by armed intruders who stole cash and 30 marijuana plants.

Douglas Gilliland, 43, was arrested Jan. 15 by Reno police detectives and was transferred to the Yuba County Jail on Monday, according to a Yuba County Sheriff's Department news release.

Reno detectives checked Gilliland's old address at the request of Yuba County investigators and found a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle from the Yuba County robbery, officials said. They soon spotted Gilliland at the home, where they took him into custody. He was subsequently taken to a Reno hospital for treatment of dog bites he received from the robbery victim's dog.

The victim, a 65-year-old man, was at his home on Indiana Ranch Road about 7 p.m. Jan. 12 when two men with whom he was acquainted came to the home and started an argument with him, according to the news release. The men, identified as Gilliland and his son, Anthony Gilliland, 24, allegedly struck the victim several times before two other men and a woman arrived, armed with a handgun and a double-barreled shotgun.

The armed individuals reportedly threatened the victim while detaining him at his home. They then stole $200 in cash and 30 mature marijuana plants, valued at approximately $10,000.

Officials said they also coerced the man into signing over title to his car. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Law enforcement officers are still seeking Anthony Gilliland, who is described as white, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds, clean shaven with a shaved head and brown eyes.

A second suspect, identified as Justin McMinn, 23, of Reno also is being sought. He is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing about 210 pounds, with red hair and green eyes.

Yuba County has issued felony warrants for the arrest of both men, and investigators are working to identify the other man and the woman involved.

Officials said all four are considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff's Department at (530) 749-7777.
