The Sacramento Violent Crimes Task Force seeks the public's help in identifying the suspect in this morning's robbery of a Bank of America branch in North Highlands.
The man entered the bank at 7465 Watt Ave. and handed a note to the teller. The note demanded money and indicated that the suspect was armed with a handgun, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department news release.
The teller complied, and the man left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. Officials said no weapon was seen.
The suspect, shown in surveillance photos, is described as white, in his early to mid-60s. He is reported to be between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 to 150 pounds, with a thin build and gray, or salt-and-pepper, hair that appeared to be combed back. He was wearing a black leather zip-up jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the robbery suspect is asked to call task force detectives at (916) 874-5115, Crime Alert at (916) 443-5357, or send a text message tip to 274637, then enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Those who call or text can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
