Sacramento PD: Squatters arrested at Valley Hi home

Sacramento police said that squatters moved into a vacant Valley Hi residence, making themselves at home.

Police responded to a home in the 8100 block of La Almendra Way shortly about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night on a report about four people entering a vacant residence.

Police said that somebody broke open a lock box, which contained the key to the residence.

The people inside the home brought in a television, mattresses and their clothes, police said.

Although they claimed to have a signed rental agreement, officers said they reached the owner of the residence who said no one had permission to enter.

The suspected intruders were arrested on suspicion of burglary. Police did not identify the suspects.
