A Sacramento teacher is scheduled to be arraigned next week after deputies allegedly found child pornography on his computer.
A San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department spokesman said Mark Cline was arrested Dec. 22 at his home in Clements, San Joaquin County. Cline, 45, is a special education teacher at Will C. Wood Middle School.
While not identifying Cline, the Sacramento City Unified School District released a statement:
"The safety of students is our top priority at Sacramento City Unified School District. As soon as the district was notified of these allegations, the employee in question was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the charges.
"The district is taking this accusation extraordinarily seriously and will take the strongest possible action against the individual should the allegations prove true. The district has proactively notified Will C. Wood parents of this situation and will continue to keep the Will C. Wood community informed."
A Sheriff's Department spokesman said the case has been submitted to the San Joaquin County District Attorney. The sheriff's spokesman said deputies got a tip Dec. 21 that Cline allegedly had child pornography on his computer.
A search warrant was served on his residence in Clements when Cline was present, the spokesman said. Sheriff's investigators allegedly found child pornography on Cline's computer and he was arrested, the spokesman said.
Cline has since bailed out of jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 13 in San Joaquin County Superior Court, records show.
