The Twin Rivers Police Department urges people to be alert to suspicious activity at schools following an arson at an Antelope-area school early Sunday.
Police and the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded to Antelope View Charter School, 3243 Center Court Lane, in the Center Unified School District at 2 a.m. Sunday. They found that a single portable classroom had been set on fire, according to a Police Department news release. The room sustained moderate damage to the carpet, walls and a window. Police said it was determined that someone had broken a window and set the interior of the room on fire. Cost of the damage has not been determined.
Police said no suspect information or surveillance camera footage of the break-in is available.
Officials urge neighbors who observe suspicious people, vehicles or activities to call police. The Twin Rivers Police Department Dispatch takes calls around the clock at (916) 286-4875. The Center Unified School District contracts with the Twin Rivers Police department for law enforcement services.
